Blaauw Products was founded over 35 years ago by Gerard Blaauw. Gerard Blaauw graduated as ceramist from prestigious art School the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and is 1 of the ten leading ceramists in the Netherlands. He was also teacher for 28 years at the world-famous Design Academy in Eindhoven.

Gerard was not pleased with the technical options of kilns at the time. He wanted kilns in which the entire firing process could be controlled in every single detail. In the development of these computerized kilns Gerard was assisted by his brother Leendert Blaauw, who specializes in electronic engineering and computer software.

The combination of knowledge of ceramics and technological knowledge resulted into a company which produces worldwide specific kilns for major companies, universities and art academies, but also for well-known artists. Over 35 years the company has expanded into a professional company with a staff of 12 persons who next to the concept and design also see to production and follow-up. The company is situated in Landsmeer, Netherlands, only at a 20 minutes drive from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport.

The customer has a choice of standard kilns, but usually the kilns are adapted to the wishes of the customer: customizing is our core business. Before Blaauw Products starts producing a kiln, detailed consultation with the customer takes place on his specific wishes (such as sizes and processes), goals and regulations. No sooner but after complete agreement has been reached on the kiln the customer has in mind, will Blaauw Products start its production. Installation of the kiln (or kilns) by Blaauw Products is followed by an extensive follow-up trajectory, including servicing and repairs.
